Martha Andreatos: She is a self taught artist who has worked with both textiles and acrylics for many years. Recently she discovered silk painting in an art therapy class for breast cancer survivors and it was love at first paint stroke. Since then she has concentrated on exploring silk painting in all its varied forms. Martha has expanded her knowledge of painting on silk by attending workshops by Susan Moyer one of the top silk artist and authors on silk painting today. Martha’s desire is to use to luxuriousness of the silk fibers and luminosity of the dyes to bring out the expression of her art. She also loves sharing the experience of painting on silk through teaching. Martha states, “The life altering event of cancer brought the beauty of silk into my life. I especially enjoy working with cancer patients through art therapy. I hope to bring them the joy of silk painting just like someone did for me.” Martha is a member of the Atlanta Artist Center and teaches at Chastain Art Center in Atlanta. She also volunteers her time giving workshops at “The Wellness Community” in Atlanta which is a center of patients going through cancer treatment.
Peter Andrew: He is the education advisor for Liquitex. He will be giving technical information about paints, pigments, history, mediums, techniques and color mixing. The purpose of the demo is to educate and inspire artists by providing them with the creative possibilities of acrylics.
May Barzegard: She has been teaching art for over ten years and began the Monart method after studying with its founder, Mona Brooks, teacher and author of several books including Drawing with Children and Drawing for Older Children and Teens. May teaches children in Marietta and is eager to begin teaching in the Buckhead neighborhood as well.
Gary Baughman: His formal art training consisted with a degree in Fine Arts from the United States Air Force Academy. He also attended Scottsdale Art School. Gary received the Award of Excellence at the Southeastern Pastel Society International Exhibition. He also instructs at the Enrichment of Life Movement, North Cobb Senior Citizen's Center and at the Mablehouse Art Center.
Peggy Baumgaertner: She was Winner of the Best of Show in the Portrait Society of America 2000 Portrait competition, she was a faculty member and demonstrator at the Portrait Society of American 2001 and 2005 Portrait Conference. Her portrait of "Clare" was selected for the cover and inclusion in book, Best of Portraiture, published by Northlights Books.
Patti Brady: Her paintings, prints and hand painted books have been exhibited nationally and reviewed by The New York Times. She is currently the Working Artist Program Director for GOLDEN Artist Colors, Inc., and has lectured and taught on the use of GOLDEN acrylics at a number of universities and art schools.
Pat Hall Burrow: She has a BA from UCLA. and also attended Otis/Parsons Art Institute in Los Angeles and did post graduate work at the Atlanta College of Art.
Emily Canter: She has a background in graphic design and illustration. She is an avid calligrapher and has enjoyed doing paper projects since childhood. Emily has conducted programs and workshops of subjects from Japanese paper projects to calligraphy and computer graphics. She is the President of the Friends of the Alphabet Calligraphy Guild and Co-Owner of Digital Tigers, Inc. Computer Company.
Marc Chatov: He was born into a world filled with art, with his father and uncle both being artists. Marc has always been fascinated with design and color. At a very early age, Marc “impressed” his father by covering the entire house in crayon murals. Later, he was enthralled as he watched his father paint and was often a model for his paintings. Despite being on one side of the easel or the other, Marc didn’t begin to seriously consider making a career of art until he was 18. As a fine art major at Georgia State University, Marc studied drawing under the late James Sitton, who was acclaimed for his drawing and anatomy instruction. Marc speaks of his inspiration from great masters such as Velazquez, Degas and John Singer Sargent. He also studied at the Art Students League in New York under Michael Burban and briefly with Nelson Shanks. From there he began a serious apprenticeship with his father and uncle and started taking on portrait commissions. Some time later, Marc studied with well-known landscape artist Albert Handell and formed a lasting friendship. Studying with Albert, he discovered a love for painting landscapes.
Impressed with his work, Portrait South immediately signed Marc and has represented him since 1987. He has painted many notable portraits throughout the US and Mexico. Money Magazine featured him as one of the top eight portrait artists in the country. “In my portraiture, it has to be a good painting, not just a likeness.” Marc has received the Governor’s Artist of Excellence Award and his works can be found in museums and galleries around the country as well many private and corporate collections.

Pat Dews, AWS, NWS: She in an elected, signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the National Collage Society and the National Assoc. of Women Artists. Award-winning Graphic Artist and Art Teacher, Patricia Dibona, has taken her distinctive style of art into the imaginative world of altered art and bookart. Bob Dunne: He has been teaching at Georgia Tech, specializing in portrait painting, for the last 4 years. He has been active as his work as an artist all of his adult life. An award-winning television Art Director in New York City, he has worked with oils and pastels doing professional portraits, ads, cartooning and caricatures.
Lisa Duncan: She has been painting for over 25 years. Her works have been shown around the Southeast. She has shown at the Artists Atelier, Di Domizio's Old World Art Gallery many other locations.
Veva Dunckle: Veva is a professional artist whose interests are in collage paintings with unique materials. She has studied with well known collage teachers and her work is marketed and sold worldwide.
Barbara Dunham: Her art education began early and was encouraged by her parents Her formal training began at John Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has studied with Chery Baird at Spruil Arts Center, Kay Powell and Nita Leland. “My journey with collage has changed my awareness of the most ordinary materials. I find inspiration in their backgrounds and colors and, using a painterly style with an impressionist twist, I use this everyday, ordinary paper to create landscapes that fool the eye.”
Lisa DuPree: She has always loved designing and creating art. She has worked in many mediums – acrylic painting, china painting, mosaics and metal sculpture. Most recently, Lisa has been concentrating on abstract mixed media art. Her work has been shown at the Binder's gallery and the Spruill Education Center. In addition, she enjoys designing and making jewelry. Using various techniques, Lisa was able to integrate some of her original artwork into a bracelet. The result was a success! She started making these wearable art pieces for friends and family and the demand grew from there. Lisa developed the Art Bracelet workshop so that others can create their own unique pieces of jewelry to wear and enjoy!
Betty Anne Durant: Educated in fine art and commercial art, Betty Anne has created designs that decorated nationally distributed products. Her art has been marketed through galleries and her prints have been sold abroad. Teaches Printing Images on Gelatin and Mylar.
Margaret Dyer: Her pastels have appeared in Pastel Highlights 2, 100 Ways to Paint the Figure, American Artist Magazine, The Artists' Magazine, International Artist Magazine, The Pastel Journal, and Pastel Artist International. She is a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America. Among her awards are Best of Show at the Coconut Grove Art Festival; Second Place in the 2003 August/September issue of International Artist magazine Figurative Competition; Finalist for 3 consecutive years in the Pastel Journal 100 Competition. She has also won awards at The American Artists Professional League Exhibition, Sausalito Art Festival, Disney Festival of the Masters, and Cherry Creek Art Festival in Denver.
Allison Elkins: She graduated from Davidson College in 2002, with a BA in Art. She was the James Pepper Art Scholar while at Davidson and studied abroad in England and France. Currently she is a resident artist with Fine Line Gallery in Grant Park and regularly shows her work at the gallery.
Anne Dusenberry Elser grew up here in Atlanta and earned her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1991 with a major in painting and a minor in ceramics. She then studied Graphic Design at The Portfolio Center in Buckhead, where she has been teaching design classes for over 10 years. Anne freelances as a graphic designer and illustrator and as a calligrapher. She is also an instructor in these fields. Her award-winning work has been featured in design annuals, books and magazines (Print, CMYK, Graphis and Communication Arts, Minimal Graphics, Then Is Now) and can be seen in several book jackets (Memory Of A Large Christmas, Storyville USA, Trickster Lives, Let Them Eat Data.) Anne’s experience as a fine artist, a designer in advertising, and as an educator for both children and adults, gives her classes a fun, friendly environment in which to grow and get to know others through self fulfillment and group therapy. Constance Falconer: She has a MFA in Printmaking from Georgia State. She has taken all the courses required for this degree. She has also traveledextensively and taught printmaking in Indonesia. She is a past president of the Atlanta Artists Center.
Kate Fetterolf: She has worked as a professional artist and instructor for over 20 years. She received a BA in painting and drawing from Duke University, and a masters of art therapy from Vermont College of Norwich University. She pursued additional art training in figure painting with Constatin and Roman Chatov, Robert Brackman, Daniel Greene, and at the Art Students' League in New York City. As an active member of the Atlanta art community, she was selected to be part of the Visual Arts Subcommittee of the Cultural Olympiad, and has been recognized by the state of Georgia for Achievement by Georgia Women in the Visual Art. Kate has taught many classes and workshops in figure painting and in creative expression. She is an art therapist in the counseling program at Jewish Family and Career Services, and actively pursues her own creative interests.
Pat Fiorello: She is a professional artist who especially enjoys capturing the beauty and energy of nature in her brightly colored watercolor paintings. Her primary subjects include landscape and garden scenes inspired by beautiful places with lush foliage and architectural accents.Pat began to learn watercolor at the age of 35. She is self-taught having taken courses, workshops and private study with noted watercolorists. Pat has taught watercolor classes since the 90’s and is a popular and sought after workshop leader. Having learned to paint as an adult herself, she has a strong conviction that anyone can learn to paint and is a patient, passionate and encouraging instructor.Pat paints in her studio in Atlanta, Ga and on location. Joyce Fischer: She has been professionally painting since 1960. Her formal training was done at Washington Universiy in St. Louis, MO.
She has shown her work in Compenere Gallery in St. Louis, MO, the Eureka Art Gallery in Eureka Springs, AR, and bbrown gallery in Matthews, NC. She has been in numerous juried art shows, and has taken home ribbons in several. She has done commissioned portraits in oil on canvas, as well as graphite portraits since 1960.
In September of 2006 she was fortunate to have been a student of the acclaimed artist, Connie Winters, in a plein aire oil painting workshop in Brantome, France, where she rekindled her training in landscape painting. Her paintings since than have been primarilly landscapes using bold colors in an impressionistic style.

Garry Grant: Previously employed by a frame shop and gallery, he was introduced to new techniques and finishes in the art of gilding. With many years of proctice, he has now mastered this skill, with a specialty in custom frames and restorations.
Phil Garrett: He has completed numerous artists' residencies, taught painting, mural painting, printmaking, and watercolor in Museum Schools and educational programs in the Southeast. He joined the Golden Artist Colors Working Artist Program two years ago, and teaches acrylic painting in numerous venues.
Kathryn Gentile: She has a BFA for Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA and also at the University of Texas, Austin, TX. She is a Juried member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta and has shown at the Jacksonville Art Museum.
Paula Guerin: Paula has been involved in rubber stamping for a number of years and has hosted a stamp club at BINDERS for 4 years. She has taken workshops by some on the most prominent stampers in the U.S.
Lee Hammond: She is a Kansas City based illustrator and author. A published author for more than a decade with North Light Books Currently Lee has written more than 15 books on drawing techniques. She teaches a wide range of artistic techniques using LYRA art products.
Sarah Hatch: She has been working professionally in fine arts since 1972. In 1976-1977, she travelled and sold her paintings on the sidewalks of Europe. Sarah's experience includes exhibiting in galleries, outdoor festivals and
running her own gllery. Ms. Hatch has been published and reviewed in newspapers and magazines in the Southeast, New York, and Europe. Her paintings are in collections worldwide.
Claudine Hellmuth: She is a nationally known collage artist. Her work has been chosen as fine art poster designs and featured in numerous magazines. She has written a book about her techniques with NorthLight Books titled “Collage Discovery Workshop.” She has also been featured on the Carol Duvall Show on HGTV.
Deborah Kepes: She is an award winning artist and Juried Member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta. Over the years Deborah has donated much her time with the Portrait Society of Atlanta under many titles, including the first VP and Chair of Fundraising. Presently she is serving as Georgia Goodwill Ambassador to the PSOA. The PSOA is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the techniques and applications of fine art portraiture.
Larry Leach: He renders landscapes in oils utilizing what he has absorbed from the Impressionists and Realists. His paintiings are stunning in their use of colors which create a sense of atmosphere and real depth. Leach has been awarded several grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. His works hang in Naomi Silva's studio here in Atlanta, and museums in Texas, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana.
John Lomax: He grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. He worked in the ceramic tile industry as a commercial contractor and after selling his business he started painting watercolors and became active in several regional art associations. He has studied with many well known artists and teachers and is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina. Many of his paintings are scenes from his travels both here and abroad.
He especially likes to paint boats, landscapes, and has found that people’s faces and everyday scenes provide interesting subjects. The strong contrast of values, light and shadow are evident in many of his paintings. Lomax also paints with acrylics and teaches watercolor classes and workshops.
Tom Lynch: Tom's credentials include; election into the illustrious “Society of American Impressionists”, “Who's Who in American Art” and “Signature Membership” in many national watercolor societies. Much of his work has been published and some of his best paintings are available in Limited Edition prints.
Marvin Mattelson: He is an award winning oil portrait painter who draws on over thirty years of professional experience as an artist. His paintings are included in the permanent collections of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. In addition to winning First Prize in 2006, the Portrait Society of America also awarded him a Certificate of Merit in 2005, a Merit Award in 2004, as well as their Best Portfolio Award for the past three years. He received the Award of Merit in the Artists Magazine Art Competition in 2002. Marvin is a distinguished educator, who teaches classes at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in addition to conducting portrait and figure paintings workshops around the country. Jason McGrady: He was born in Kansas City , Missouri in 1973. He lived there until he moved to Georgia in 1991. He has been drawing and painting since childhood and is always working on finding new styles and techniques for his work. Jason went to The Art Institute of Atlanta and graduated in 1995 with a degree in Advertising Design. He worked for 12 years as a Graphic Advertising Designer and has now established a career as a fine artist and encaustic’s teacher. Mark Menendez: He has been painting for most of his life. For over twenty years, Mark has instructed hundreds of students at all levels of expertise or education. Many of his students have been awarded either First Place or Best of Show in many prestigious art competitions. He has a gift for making his students feel at ease, and is generous in his instruction. Rebecca Nagel: She has been teaching children of all ages for the past 6 years. Rebecca has taught at the Spruill Center for the Arts & Vanderlyn Elementary School both in Dunwoody, Ga. Her expertise is in working with children to release and nurture their creativity using a variety of mediums. Recently she was recognized by the Governor of the State of Georgia as a Georgia Exceptional Teacher. She has even taken the opportunity to use art with teenagers as a therapeutic tool and means for expressing their unique style and imagination! Needless to say, Rebecca’s passion is art! Rebecca holds a B.A. from Auburn University in Mass-Communications/Journalism, and has studied in Europe with the Art Institute of Atlanta. Her artwork has been featured in several films across the nation, earned awards, and been displayed at schools such as Agnes Scott College. She is in the process of publishing a book and producing and facilitating adult seminars on art as a powerful healing tool.
Andre Nobrega: He was born in Brazil in Olinda, Pernambuco. He has been a plein air artist almost twenty years. Andre has traveled all around Brazil and the US. His latest body of work expresses some of the color and personality of Atlanta. Andre's works have shown in individual and group exhibitions throughout Brazil and the United States. Bill Oates: Bill received some of his training at the Atlanta College of Art. He studied with various teachers throughout the U.S. He developed an excellent style of pastel painting.

Kay Powell: Education: Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA – BFA. Attended various workshops including Maxine Masterfield, Ann Baldwin, Joseph Perrine and Ann Bagby.Self-defined as a “decorative expressionism”, I often compare my Art to the Faive school of painting. I’m enticed by other artists and my students. I learn a lot from them. Some of the artists I admire include, Lee Krasner, Jim Dine and Terence LaNove. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of painting methods, mediums and techniques. “I love experimenting and many times it does not turn out the way I thought it would, but I use that result to fuel me in a different direction. As I was in the beginning of my career, I’m eager to keep experimenting and continuing to find myself as an artist. I just love, “to do”, and to teach.
Barry Sholder: He has been referred to as “a Jack of All Trades,” being proficient in watercolors, acrylics, airbrushing, cartooning, caricature, and sign painting. As a youngster, Barry spent many weekend with his father who was an accomplished watercolorist as well as an architect. Barry has studied the styles of Tom Lynch, Frank Webb, and Mel Stabin. Being inspired by these artists has molded Barry’s approach to watercolors into a very unique style. Barry’s method of instruction is a bit unique in that it is laid back and relaxing. “I don’t really fit the mold of an artists, I just like to paint, ahve fun, and share what I have learned over the years with others. Barry has participated in many local and national juried competitions with many awards under his belt. “When I teach, I try to show different options that a student has when approaching a new painting, while keeping things very simple so as not to overwhelm someone new to the medium. Above all he is about making the painting experience fun and rewarding.
Judith Schonbak: She is an award-winning freelance writer and editor with 25 years experience covering business, the arts and other subjects. She has worked in television both on and off-camera as a business reporter and is a video script writer. She has taught writing workshops for artists and has taught English and writing on the high school level. She has participated in the writer-in-residence program in several Georgia high schools. Ms. Schonbak holds a BA in English and Education from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. She is a watercolor artist who exhibits regionally and whose work hangs in a number of private collections. She has had several one-woman shows and has been accepted into various local juried shows. Ms. Schonbak is Past-president of the Atlanta Artists Center and recently completed a two and one-half year term. She has served in various AAC Board capacities for eight years. She is a member of the Georgia Watercolor Society and was Second Vice President in 2004-2005.
Jonathan Simon:He is a realist painter based in Atlanta, having recently moved his studio from New York. He is a native southerner and holds a Masters Degree from the prestigious New York Academy of Figurative Art.He has studied at the Art Students League of New York and with Jacob Collins and Michael Grimaldi at the world renowned Water Street Atelier in New York. Mary Taylor: She is an award-winning artist and she teaches artists how to handle mixed media digital printmaking processes. Becky Wallace: She discovered her love for art in the 1970's studying with many artists to learn technique. Her professional experience includes working as an artist consultant and lecturer for Binney and Smith and demonstrator of the Liquitex line of paints. Traveling with her husband throughout his career has given her many opportunities to pursue her love for art and to teach others. Becky paints, teaches and periodically travels the Gulf Coast aboard their sailboat, Destiny, being inspired by a never-ending array of sunsets, islands and views only God could create.
Kitty Wallis: She is an accomplished pastel artist and the founder of Wallis Corporation which makes pure pigment moist pastels and pastel paper used world wide.
Halima Washington: She earned her B.A in Visual Arts and Art History from Occidental College in Los Angeles and her M.F.A in drawing and painting from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has taught fine art to all ages in Los Angeles and San Francisco, now living in Suwanee, GA she continues to teach fine art and currently exhibits at Fine Line Gallery in Grant Park and Anne Irwin Fine Art in Buckhead. Lynn Weisbach: She has been an artist most of her life. She earned a BFA from the University of North Florida and worked as a designer, art director and creative director before returning to her first love of fine art. Her award winning work is in both private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and is in the permanent collections of The John Marlor Art Center in Milledgeville, GA and the Cultural Arts Center in Douglasville, GA.
Debra K. Yaun: She is the co-author of several Walter Foster books and her work has appeared in the Artist"s magazine, The best of colored pencil lll and Portrait Inspirations. She is a graduate of Ringling Schhool of Art and Design, a juried member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta, a signature member of the Colored Pencil Society of American and the President of the local Chapter ofthe CPS
